This speech is Project 2 “The Proposal” from Advanced Manual “Technical Presentation”. The objectives of this speech are
- To prepare a technical presentation advocating a product, service, idea or course of action
- To present your viewpoint logically and convincingly, using an inverted-pyramid approach
- To effectively use a flipchart to illustrate your message
- To effectively handle a question and answer period
The timing for the presentation is 8-10 mins for speech; 3-5 mins for question and answer.
For this project, I used back the same material in my previous AP1 and changed it to a proposal. In my actual speech, I forgot to explain the setting of the speech to the audience. This is important so that the audience knew where the speech was coming from. In this podcast, I added the setting of the speech at the beginning.
I presented the speech at the AIA Alexandra Advanced Project Night. The meeting was facilitated by Patrick Chang. The meeting was quite refreshing since it was an open evaluation format.
